MBR Supplies in the Municipal Sector

Oct 6 2025

Our supply of MBR membranes for the municipal sector continues.

These days, the start-up and commissioning activities of the new ultrafiltration section with ZeeWeed hollow fiber supported membranes are nearing completion at a municipal wastewater treatment plant in Central Italy.

The project, awarded to the company Integra srl, involved the reconstruction of the biological section, including the creation of two parallel lines configured as combined denitrification/nitrification reactors in a single compartment, the resizing of some existing volumes to create new tanks for housing the membranes, and the replacement of the existing flat sheet membrane devices with new hollow fiber supported membranes using ZeeWeed technology. The installed surface area exceeds 8,000 m² and is arranged across two parallel lines capable of treating an average flow rate of 2,000 m³/day, with a maximum hydraulic peak of around 190 m³/hour. The system has been designed so that even with one filtration line out of service, the plant can still handle the maximum daily flow for several days.
